FAQ

  • Who can attend?

If you’re 13-18, you’re in! Haven Split is for high school students, whether you’ve been coding for years or are completely new.

  • Where is Haven Split?

We’re at FESB, University of Split: Ruđera Boškovića 32, 21000 Split.

  • Do I need a team?

Nope! You can come on your own and find teammates at the event. Teams can have up to three people, and you can also build solo or as a duo.

  • What should I bring?

Bring a laptop, charger and whatever you normally need to survive a long day of making things. We’ll send everyone a more detailed packing list before the event.

  • What happens to our games?

At the end of the jam, you’ll publish your game to itch.io and show it off during our game showcase. Then everyone gets to walk around and play what the other teams made.

  • Is it really free?

Yep! Haven Split is completely free to attend. We’ll provide the program, food, snacks and everything you need to spend the weekend building.

  • What if I’ve never coded before?

Perfect! You don’t need any previous experience. We’ll have a beginner workshop, mentors and plenty of people around to help when your code inevitably decides not to cooperate.

  • What are we actually making?

A game! You’ll start with an idea, build it with your team and publish a playable version by the end of the jam. It can be clever, beautiful, ridiculous or all three.

  • Will there be food?

Absolutely. Food, snacks and drinks are part of the event and won’t cost you anything. Building games is hard enough without having to hunt for lunch.
